Danielle Newton, farmer, wife, mother of 3, and owner of Be Brave Yoga  is an  E-500hr RYT, Meditation Instructor, Kirtan Leader, and Y12SR facilitator. Danielle has been practicing Yoga since 2008 and started her teaching career in 2015. She came to Yoga seeking relief from chronic pain and arthritis in her early twenties. What was even more astonishing than the practice leaving her feeling pain free and improving her mobility, is that the practice spoke to her spirit like nothing ever had before. Diving into yoga as a complete system and not just a physical exercise has led her to meet some of the most amazing and inspirational people while completely transforming her life. She uses the practice to spread inspiration to others through uplifting classes and heart filled Kirtan. Danielle continues to study the art of Yoga and is passionate about supporting others in their yoga journey and giving back to her community.

Stephanie Casillas has been fascinated with movement and meditation since the age of seven. She’s always been a kindred-spirit. Her in-studio journey began in 2000 as a form of stress management for college. She fancies herself a “vinyasa yogi gypsy”, however, her primary focus is in Ashtanga. Her methodology extrapolates aspects from all her favorite styles as well as her background in Nuclear Medicine. She uses her knowledge of human anatomy to create a comprehensive experience that will not only have your entire body feeling restored and revitalized, but you will also leave understanding the why aspect of a pose.

You can find her practicing anywhere along the Connecticut shoreline to studios in downtown Providence, RI. She completed her 200hr. training at Hot on Bank in Mystic, CT in 2021. She is a proud mother of one. Yoga has been the perfect opportunity to explore curiosities about herself, connect with daughter, and become a more compassionate person for her community. In her class you will find a supportive space to observe the mind and body.  Her goal is to offer safe, accessible postures to help deepen your practice and (most importantly) have fun!

Now, as a teacher, I aim to create a space where others can experience the same -
whether they come to build strength, find stillness, or simply take a deep breath.

Beth started taking yoga classes on and off in her early twenties. When life would get stressful and she needed to recenter herself, Beth always ended up on her mat in a yoga class. Eventually, Beth realized making yoga and working to incorporate the yogic principles in her daily life would be the best present she could offer herself emotionally, mentally, and physically.  Beth finished her 200 hr Power Yoga teacher training in June of 2023 through West Hartford Yoga under the tutelage of Barbara Ruzanksy, Jen Leavitt, and Jude Russell. As a public school teacher and mother to two teens, she believes people of all ages can benefit tremendously from what yoga offers to the body, mind, and spirit on and off the mat.

As a recent 200hr YTT graduate, Laura has found a true passion for Yin Yoga and she enjoys deepening her studies and practice in this area. Yin requires us to be still, to surrender into the discomfort and find peace there. She enjoys curating soulful playlists to correspond with the passiveness yin offers and allows the body (and mind) to truly melt into each pose.

From her very first class, she was drawn to the profound connection between breath and movement. The practice always left her grounded, inspired, and deeply present. By courageously stepping beyond her comfort zone, Cassandra immersed herself in retreats and workshops and found a true home within the Be Brave Yoga community. As she joins the teaching team, Cassandra is honored to hold space for students to meet vulnerability with courage, create and inspire connection between mind, body, and spirit, and encourage students to return to their own inner wisdom - both on and off the mat. Outside of caring for others, you can find her spending time with friends and family, with a book in hand, or walking through nature.

Greg Newton is a dedicated martial artist, craftsman, and family man with a lifelong passion for movement, discipline, and creation.

He began practicing martial arts as a young child but his path truly accelerated at 19 when a renowned instructor moved into his neighborhood, opened a school, and mentored him personally. Greg quickly rose to senior student and was teaching classes within his first year. Five years later, he took full ownership of the school, leading programs in Northern Shaolin Long Fist, classical Yang-style Tai Chi, kickboxing, and practical self-defense.

When his first son was born, Greg made the heartfelt choice to close the school and redirect his energy toward growing his construction business and raising his family.

Today, Greg lives in East Haddam, CT, on a small family farm with his wife and three sons. He owns and operates Newton Carpenters, LLC specializing in fine craftsmanship, antique home restoration, custom furniture, and finish carpentry. He also teaches Tai Chi classes at Be Brave Yoga, sharing the mindful, flowing practice that has shaped much of his life.

His handiwork is woven throughout the Be Brave Yoga studio- from the welcomein sign out front to the custom shower in the back, and the original art adorning the walls. Whether building, teaching, or creating in his workshop, Greg brings the same dedication, precision, and quiet strength to everything he does.

A Bit About The Founder of Be Brave Yoga

Yoga as a Lifestyle

When I was 24 years old, I discovered this way of life, it saved me really. I was on a self destructive path and dealing with debilitating arthritis every day. As a mom of two young children, something had to change. I tried changing my diet, I tried traditional exercise, I tried doctors and medications. Nothing was helping. Then I tried yoga. There was something different about this approach to wellness. Yoga didn't address any symptoms but rather taught me how to approach my own wellness through a complete system. I learned to look at myself physically, mentally, and emotionally; my entire energetic make up had been shifted through regular practice, which doesn't always have to be on a mat in a Yoga studio. I never saw myself walking this path but looking back now, it makes so much sense. It was exactly what I needed. I knew very early on that spreading this love I had found was my true calling. What that looks like has transformed over the last 14 years. I find yoga everywhere; In my developing patience and trust that my garden will grow, in raising my children to be aware of their breath and to develop a life filled with self love and self care, and in teaching Asana and Bhakti to anyone who finds themselves in need of some spiritual maintenance and community.

I can't wait to meet you, no matter what leg of the journey you're on.
